His extensive practice includes gastrointestinal and laparoscopic surgery, small intestine, colon, and rectal surgery, oncologic surgery, breast surgery, as well as benign and malignant thyroid surgery, and bariatric surgery. Over the years, Dr. Bissot has continually advanced his skills through numerous post-graduate courses and professional congresses, such as the Annual Clinical Congress of the American College of Surgeons in various cities, including San Francisco and Orlando. His commitment to ongoing education is evidenced by his participation in specialized courses in minimally invasive surgery, biliary tract, liver and pancreatic disease, breast surgery, colon diseases, and flexible endoscopy at prestigious institutions like Harvard Medical School and the Cleveland Clinic Foundation.

Dr. Bissot graduated from the Faculty of Medicine of the University of Panama in 1987 and later became a specialist in general surgery at the Doctor Arnulfo Arias Madrid Metropolitan Hospital Complex of the Caja del Seguro Social in 1994. His career is marked by a series of significant professional developments, including a theoretical and practical basic course in laparoscopic surgery in San José, Costa Rica, and advanced training in endorectal ultrasound and surgery for the morbidly obese. In 2004, he received specialized training in surgery for morbid obesity at the Gastro Obeso Center of the Syrian Lebanese Hospital in Sao Paulo, Brazil. Dr. Bissot also served as the Medical Director of HPP since April 2006, demonstrating his leadership in the medical field. His extensive training and professional experience make him a highly respected figure in general and specialized surgical practices.
