Dr. Muhyeddine Al Taki

Dr Taki is a Canadian National Associate Professor of Clinical Surgery at the American University of Beirut. He worked as a consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon at the American University of Beirut for 11 years before moving to Dubai in 2021, where he worked at Emirates Hospital Group, also as a Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon and Head of the Department of Orthopaedics.

Dr Taki completed his Medical Studies in 1999 at the American University of Beirut and his Orthopaedic Residency Training in 2006 at the American University of Beirut Medical Centre. After that, he completed an AO Trauma Fellowship in the United Kingdom in 2006, after which he travelled to Canada for further fellowship training. In Canada, he completed two Clinical Fellowships (2007-2009) in Lower Extremity Reconstruction, including Complex Primary and Revision Hip and Knee Arthroplasty and Joint Replacement Surgery at the University of Toronto and the University of British Columbia. This was followed by two additional Clinical Fellowships in “Sports Medicine and Arthroscopy” and “Arthroscopic Reconstructive Surgery and Athletic Injuries” at the University of Toronto and the University of British Columbia.

Overall, Dr Taki has 17 years of experience in Orthopedic Surgery, all centered around Service Excellence, Accelerated Patient Recovery, and Minimal Pain Surgery. He has been a Core Faculty member at AUBMC and, as an academic, taught and trained orthopaedic residents and future orthopaedic surgeons.

Awards and Certifications

Dr Taki is active in research, with more than 14 articles published in peer-reviewed journals and five book chapters. He is a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons and a member of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons. He is also a member of the Lebanese Orthopaedic Society & the Lebanese Order of Physicians.
